Van Leeuwen Enterprises
Project Details
Van Leeuwen Enterprises is a wholesale motorcycle equipment distributor. The company had an existing design they wanted to build so my role was primarily development but I did take it upon myself to take their wireframe/mockup and reverse engineer it to make it mobile responsive using the bootstrap framework

Van Leeuwen had an existing site they wanted to get web ready and such my role started in the development phase of the build. I started by taking their existing design and deciding on what components I would need in order to create all the containers that the content would go in. The design itself was mocked up specifically for desktop and so I decided to use Bootstrap to create the mobil version of the site, so I took the initial design and decided on how to best fit it for mobil and from there started working my way up

Process
I decided early the site had to be mobile responsive, the company had not planned on it originally but once I proposed the mobile first approach they agreed. The first step was to quickly wireframe a sketched version of what the mobile version of the site would look like and try to engineer it so it matched what the designer envisioned once it expanded to desktop view. I built the site from the ground up collecting and creating content once that step was completed

My thoughts on the project
Since my role was primarily development and this was one of my first projects, I really got to dive into the code. I learned a lot from how to efficiently structure HTML but also how to work within a pre-built CSS framework and decide on how to write my own styles in order to not only make sure the site isn’t bogged down but also does not have any conflicting styling issues.
