CR Print

Project Details

CR Print needed their site re-built in order to modernize it. The original site had a number of issues, primarily it was built on a much older platform and lacked mobile optimization. I was hired to take the site from what would have been considered contemporary a few years ago to market standards today. I built the site from the ground up using wordpress as the owners also wanted access to the back-end, in order to make small changes, which is something they did not have with the previous site. I was in charge of designing, building, and optimizing the site for both desktop and mobile.

Research

Since CR Print is a business to business printing shop, the site itself had different hurdles to overcome, so I started by researching other B2B printing shops to see what they included or excluded from their front facing site. Noticing that most sites focused on giving the customer and potential customer a feeling of trust and guarantee, I decided that direction would be the best way to approach CR Prints site as well

Process & Site Results

Once the research phase was completed, the second phase of the project was made of mostly of information and asset gathering. I started by gathering images that the owners could take a look at and decide which ones they preferred to use on the site. As soon as the content was mostly finalized I started putting together a site design. This included wireframing, some mockups for a visual representation as the owners wanted to see an idea of what the site would look like, development and launch.

My thoughts on the project

CR Print’s website was an interesting project to work on as well. Designing and building to market and maintain business clients is an entirely different than say a regular retail or customer site. It definitely has to match the language and imagery that businesses are looking for and I can say, I’ve walked away with much more knowledge on how to operate for businesses in general because of this build
