Suomy Catalog
Project Details
Van Leeuwen is a wholesale nationwide motorcycle equipment distributor. The company puts together a catalog for their clients to see what next years motorcycle helmets will look like and what graphics they will include. The company is one of the exclusive dealers of the Suomy helmet made in Italy. I was in charge of design, layout, and printing of the magazine that would be sent to retailers as well as used in trade shows to market the company.

The catalog was to include a lot of the new incoming models, so the project including sourcing a lot of materials from our own files and the manufacturer. Once all the assets were gathered I started laying out the catalog using Adobe InDesign. Most of the project was built with Id and some Photoshop to edit photos and make any perspective adjustments to the product. Once the design was complete I made sure everything was ready for print and sent it out to the printer.
My thoughts on the project
Having the chance to work so extensively in Adobe InDesign gave me the opportunity to get familiar with the program once more since my early days in design. It was once again a learning experience in the nuances of InDesign such as setting up style parameters for copy and titles, getting things laid out properly to account for margin and bleed, but setting everything up for print was a learning experience I kept with me going forward in my career from this point.
