Tiny Porch Concert
Project Details
Tiny Porch is a five month long concert series held on Gillette Ranch in Ventura County. The organization gets Folk/Americana style music artists from all over the country to come and play and as such the organization needed a poster and social media graphics in order to promote the concert. The project also included photography which would be used the next year to promote the event.

Tiny Porch has a very specific aesthetic they like to adhere to because of the type of music and artists they promote. They want something that has a mix of rustic/vintage with modern text or designs such as sans-serif fonts and more crisp graphics. The poster and social media posts would have to keep to this style and so the result would be a poster that had a lot of texture paired with the Gotham font in order to keep it in the same design direction

The poster was supposed to be as straight forward as possible so I decided to do a mostly centered layout with the text of the event wrapped around the logo. The owner and organizer decided he wanted something a bit different than the standard straight centered title, so I decided to wrap it around the logo to still center but change it to the clients liking

Photography
As well as the poster and social media graphics, Tiny Porch hired me to do photography for their final and main night of the series. The concert is held outdoors and the challenge of shooting outdoors and in diminishing light had a number of challenges. I took advantage of the artists rehearsals in order to get shots of the artists in the best light and without the audience I was able to really dictate the position of my shots

My thoughts on the project
The project was a straightforward design to print job. I had the privilege of working with them to promote their event from start to finish and to conclude with being able to take photos on their final night was definitely a bonus. I got to practice my skills in preparing files for print as well as gaining some experience in outdoor event photography
